My Story

On the 25th of October 2024, we are competing in UoB's 'Race To Paris'. It is a challenge where 26 teams of 2 will go head to head to see who can get from Bath to Paris first, with challenges for points along the way. However, the teams will not be able to use money or their phones - solely relying on the goodwill and support of the public. Think BBC's 'Race Across the World' without a budget...

We will be participating in this event to raise money for two leading charities:

  • Voices, a charity dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. They provide vital emotional and practical support to those affected, helping them rebuild their lives after trauma. Through counselling, advocacy, and community outreach, Voices empowers survivors to regain control and move forward in a safe and supportive environment. The charity works to raise awareness and ensure that no one faces domestic abuse alone.
  • The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) provides emergency air ambulance services across the Southwest, delivering critical care to those in urgent need. Their highly skilled team of paramedics and doctors respond to life-threatening incidents, offering rapid medical intervention when every second counts. As a charity, GWAAC relies on donations to keep flying and saving lives, ensuring that people in the region get the emergency care they need, no matter where they are.

The end goal is, of course, to reach Paris, but more importantly, to raise £500 to allow us to really make a difference to the world.

Any donation, small or large, will truly have an impact and will better the lives of many people. Please consider donating to our cause and sharing this message with your network to help us reach our goal.

Thank you for your contribution to these causes!
